The Problem
We have two wishes and we will commit to one at our next meeting (1/25/17 1. To have peaceful garden where we can go to reflect. 2. Reduce the number of plastic bags used.
Our Plan
1.Students will work with the school community as well as the community to create a reflection garden. We have a raised bed garden which was started last year and would like to be able to incorporate a place where students can sit and reflect and find a peaceful place. We would accomplish by researching about reflection gardens, decide on a design and search for community resources and resources already available to us through the doe. In addition, I have registered for a class to teach educators how to implement and fund garden projects. ( New York Botanical Gardens , gardening 101 2/19- 2/25). 2. If students committ to decreasing plastic bags used in their community , they will create a public service challenge message to use less bags, design, sell and educate students, teachers and parents to use reusable bags.
