The Problem

Hospitals around Westchester are struggling due to COVID-19, and many lack adequate resources.

Our Plan

We are organizing a fabric face mask drive to collect masks to donate to the Greenwich hospital. We've compiled resources and reached out to many members of the community to spread the word and collaborate on this project!

Here is how the project went:

We were able to connect with the community and donate homemade masks to a local hospital (Stamford hospital). The fabric masks will be used by patients at the hospital!

Through this project I/we learned:

Through this project, we researched different types of masks and learned how to sew our own. We also learned more about the impact of COVID on our community and helped to mitigate it.

What I/we might change:

We would likely start the project earlier and reach out to more people if possible.

My/our favorite part of this project was:

My favorite part of the project was teaching others how to make masks over zoom. It was frustrating at times but it was fun to learn something new and spread that knowledge!

Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:

When making homemade masks, it's important to do research and check with your local hospital to make sure that they are able to accept them. Hospitals may have specific requirements for the type of mask that they would like people to donate.
