The Problem

The Asclepias syriaca (common milkweed) is dying too early for the monarchs and there is less of the Asclepias tuberosa (butterfly weed) which the monarchs seem to prefer. Also, the front garden at our school is weedy, messy, and unattractive.

Our Plan

We will work with Helen O'Donnell to plan and install a butterfly garden with more biodiversity, to support the monarchs and other butterflies from spring through fall.
