The Problem
Pollinators are decreasing worldwide due to habitat loss and the effects of climate change. We want to create a garden filled with native perennials to provide food and habitats for local and migrating pollinators on our campus.
Pollinators are decreasing worldwide due to habitat loss and the effects of climate change. We want to create a garden filled with native perennials to provide food and habitats for local and migrating pollinators on our campus.
We have already mapped out the area and started the no till garden by laying down cardboard and a compost/mulch mixture. The area will be ready by spring to plant our perennials. We will also be adding student-created educational signs about birds, bats, bees, and butterflies and some bee boxes and birdhouses.
