The Problem
Our wish is to educate youth on the how food is grown, about health, nutrition and sustainable living practices. Participants will get a chance to plant, care for their garden, harvest vegetables, and distribute to share holders. As a result they will become active participants in creating a more sustainable community, and gain a deeper appreciation for the earth.
Our Plan
Our project will teach youth about agriculture, local plants, and help them develop gardening skills. It will produce food and flowers for the participants and their family. We will plant and maintain a community garden that participants and community members can contribute resources and volunteer hours. The youth and family members will take turns throughout the planting season to tend to and maintain the gardens.
