The Problem
Many children in the Los Angeles Community do not have access to organic foods, do not know where their food comes from, and do not have experience playing in the dirt.
Our Plan
During the Winter academic break, FEAST Garden wants to host a mini-series of three children's workshops to encourage children to learn and engage in nature through story-time, discussion, hands-on activities, and creative outlets. Each workshop will cover a particular topic. Workshop 1 will be about Growing Food: Where does food come from? Workshop 2 will be about Sustainable Eating Practices: The Importance of Mindfulness. Workshop 3 will be about Compost: How to be a Responsible Consumer. These workshops are designed to introduce children to environmentalism and sustainability in an age-appropriate form to nurture them into caring community-involved learners.
