The Problem

Cat species around the world are at risk. They are losing their homes and are increasingly at risk due to proximity to humans.

Our Plan

If you are local to Florida, our group will be attending naturalist author, Sy Montgomery's talk in Jupiter on March 18th! She has written many books about wildlife, including "Chasing Cheetahs" from Teresa's favorite series "Scientists in the Field". Please join us if you are able! Some members of our group are creating stop-motion videos to create awareness and connection. They are hoping people will learn about these animals or see how special they are. Other members are learning about wildlife corridors and what we can do here in Florida to ensure our wild cat species can transverse human areas. We will watch the documentary Path of the Panther to learn more. To wrap up our project, we will be hosting a fancy tea party! Participants (possibly the grown ups!) will don our giant cat heads (you have to see them to understand) and our best attire to have some cat conservation conversations. This recorded skit will serve as our own version of a PSA announcement!
