Our goal is to establish a sustainable waste recycling program on our school campus. Our vision is to not only have 'blue bins' around campus but that every student and staff member knows what can go in to the recycling bins. Eventually, we would like to have a composting system as well.
Our EarthSavers team has started to educate the school community. They organized an event called Trash Con that was held during lunch. Students were invited to participate in games such as Trashketball and Trash Trivia during which they were introduced to the items that can go into the recycling bins. Some group members asked students to put recyclable items into the blue bins that they monitored. EarthSavers will continue this campaign by having regular announcements that highlight recyclable items, creating informational posters and asking classes to adopt a recycling bin.
