Waste Reduction in the Cafeteria

The Problem

For this project we hope to reduce waste in the cafeteria. Our plan to reduce waste has three parts. Part one was to compost in the cafeteria and use the waste to make hummus or compost for our garden. Part two is to teach the school better recycling practices. Finally part three is to focus on the 5 "R's" reduce, recycle, reuse, repurpose and refuse.

Our Plan

We will launch our composting project on Earth Day. We will then send the Green Team to the cafeteria each Wednesday to begin to collect food scraps and encourage recycling.
