The Utah Youth Environmental Summit is a forum for environmentally conscious students of Utah to gain the skills and social networking to lead our state in environmental justice and sustainability initiatives. We accomplish this through workshops, guest speaker presentations and outdoor excursions to gain a greater appreciation of Utah’s natural wonders and a resolve to keep them from harm.
We presently have eight schools that have confirmed that they can attend. We also have acquired 6 environmental organizations who will sponsor the summit. Representatives from these organizations will attend and educate students about how to get involved in environmental non-profits. We've also been having regular conference calls with organizers around the state to work out the details of the summit schedule and activities. We still need to contact business sponsors to provide financial aid, pick out musicians to attend, and expand our publicity.
