Updating the school bin signs!

The Problem

Our current bin signs are difficult to understand. We have general bins, recycling, and compost, but we're finding the wrong things in the wrong bins often. The Green Geckos think this could be because of the lack of effective imagery and the language barrier for our large foreign student base. It's time to update our bins!

Our Plan

We're designing bin signs that utilise the three most spoken languages at Clifton Terrace Model School: English, Spanish and Te Reo Maori. We're trying to design the signs so they're not too wordy (for our new entrance students!) and use the most clear and effective images possible. We're also wanting to use a few key images from our reFUSE REfuse exhibition, to send the message of what waste belongs in which bins even more clearly!
