The project focuses on creating a visual resource for UC Davis college students looking for affordable housing. The visual resource can help students from all income ranges find a suitable apartment that fits their finances. The project can be expanded to housing in Davis in general rather than just for students looking for apartments.
The project will analyze apartment prices in regions of Davis by breaking down Davis into subsections. The prices of the classic 2-bedroom apartment for college students will be recorded for apartment complexes who make their price and floor plans available to the public online in order to prevent breaches in privacy. Finally, the average price of rent for each region of Davis will be laid out on a map in order to show where affordable apartments occur.
