The Problem
I wish to increase awareness on the environmental consequences of relying on nonrenewable sources of energy for transportation. By the end of the project, I want students to advocate for renewable energy within Downtown Los Angeles and beyond.
Our Plan
In partnership with alternative transport groups (such as bike sharing companies, the Metro, etc.), my students will conduct outreach efforts to spread awareness on the personal and environmental benefits of using renewable energy for transport. I will do this project in two phases. During the first phase, students will build a solar-powered device to explore the benefits and challenges of renewable energy. During the second phase, students will advocate for renewable energy in their community by creating flyers and posters, sharing their learning with community partners, and hosting public presentations.
