The Problem
We want to provide a resource for those who want to join the fight against internalized racism but do not feel informed or empowered enough to help. This will also hopefully spark more long term interest in education after people complete the project.
Our Plan
This will be a challenge in which people dedicate a small portion of ten days to learn how to become a better ally to people of color. It is a way to genuinely contribute to the Black Lives Matter movement while keeping in mind people\'s economic and health concerns. This project will be a great resource for those who want to change their mindset in order to help the marginalized members of our society. Each day will include a key terms with a related article for further research, a podcast to listen to, and a film to foster a deeper understanding of the movement. The challenge has the ability to be personalized to the time constraints and interest of participants, and the amount of work put in to each is entirely up to you. For example, if day two of the challenge is a busier day, then you can decide to cut out the podcast or film. We hope that this project will be a tool to make you a better ally in a way that is both meaningful and impactful. The link attached gives a layout of the project and the resources necessary.
