The Problem

Our city has entered into a cooperative agreement with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to raise baby walleye for them to release into area lakes. Our group will be providing the volunteers needed to monitor the water quality of the rearing pond and net the fish at the end of the project.

Our Plan

We will be providing the labor needed to assist the DNR with netting the fish each fall. While the fish are in the pond, we will be monitoring water quality parameters to make sure the fish have the environment they need. To do the water testing, we will be using hand held lab equipment so the kids can get some hands-on experience.
