On Saturday, 16 April, NY is a Great Place to Bee! Worker Bees will teach 62 girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade (and some of their parents) about bees, how they live, why they are important, what is threatening them, and how we all can help at an Earth Day celebration at Camp Addisone Boyce in Tomkins Cove, NY! There will be interactive games to learn about bee communication such as pheremones and how honey bees communicate by dancing, and there will be a honey making activity that involves girls pretending to be bees gathering "nectar" (water) and "pollen" (yellow pompoms) from specially designed "flowers." There will also be a presentation to the whole gathering on ways to help bees, so they can pick their "Way to Bee!"
