The Problem
Underserved youth in our community have limited access to hands-on environmental education, food-growing skills, and meaningful opportunities to understand how healthy soil, pollinators, water conservation, and sustainable agriculture affect their families and communities. At the same time, food insecurity and limited exposure to agriculture and environmental careers can disconnect young people from the systems that produce their food. Sunrise Solution wants to address this by engaging youth directly in our garden and orchard, where they can grow food, learn about pollinators and biodiversity, practice water and soil conservation, and use what they learn to create positive environmental and community impact.
