Our catholic preschool was interested in expanding our science and health program to include a garden to grow fruits and vegetables that would be eaten during our day. We had great success building our raised bed and gardening, however we did not quite have the right conditions for growth just yet.
We plan to purchase new sprouts in the early spring to plant and water with hopes of growing the fruits and vegetables we wish to grow to consume during our school day. Our reasoning for this initiative is to show our students the benefits of gardening, eating healthy foods, seeing small progress over a period of time and perseverance.
