The Problem
We want people to be aware that animals belong in habitats that are homes for them and not cages that are small and without wildlife or vegetation. Animals need to be able to roam and explore in habitats that are best for their needs.

After reading the book "The One and Only Ivan" by Katherine Applegate my second grade students were eager to spread the word that animals deserve an inviting habitat or home to live in. Ivan is a caged animal in Katherine's book and the book is written in his perspective. He tells about his desire for himself and his elephant friend to be home and not be in a tiny cage. Help share what animals would want to say if they could speak by making animal posters, green screen videos or even using apps to spread the word about what animals would want us to hear about the unfair cages and treatment they experience in the entertainment industry. Put a speech bubble with your poster and share what they want for a home or habitat. Share these posters , videos etc. and speak up for the animals.
