The members of our Roots & Shoots Club was visited by Sam of Simply Smiles. She shared a presentation on the wonderful children of the Simply Smiles Children's Home and how their lives have been positively impacted by the home. Our members were inspired to help raise funds and awareness. They brainstormed ideas, presented their ideas to the group, and everyone voted on their favorite ideas. They decided to have a Spooky Slime-athon, Craftathon, bake sale, and raffle. At our second meeting we created posters to hang around the school and a PSA: https://youtu.be/-MW2cQwGaBk . At our third meeting, we created pins and pencils to sell and gathered Emoji themed toys for our raffle basket (each family donated one item).
