The Problem
The goal of the ServeWyoming Mural Project is to bring together community volunteers and local nonprofits partners for a community-wide service event to rejuvenate the community both in appearance and volunteer spirit.
The goal of the ServeWyoming Mural Project is to bring together community volunteers and local nonprofits partners for a community-wide service event to rejuvenate the community both in appearance and volunteer spirit.
We plan to design a service project as part of a National Day of Service: the 9/11 Day of Remembrance (September 11, 2016). The specific project we will undertake, with the help of local nonprofit partners, Casper College, and community volunteers, is a mural project in a high traffic area in Casper, WY that is often vandalized. The ServeWyoming Mural Project will be spearheaded through ServeWyoming’s Volunteer Wyoming programming. The top priority for this project is to engage citizens in quality volunteer opportunities. By offering a countywide volunteer project, we hope to engage multiple segments of the population, from Casper College students, community volunteers, community leaders to inspire involvement in local nonprofits as well as to help make Casper a more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.
