The Problem
Seedlings Kindertribe is an outdoor preschool that I recently started in my 1.5 acre backyard. We are rooted in Waldorf education and inspired by Scandinavian Forest Schools. I love Jane Goodall, and have always looked up to her more than any other human. I have designed my school program with her values at the heart and soul of what we do. I strive to make the world a better place by providing a nature-based, all day outdoor schooling for children ages 2-5. We are located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our backyard is a blank canvas. We only moved in here a year ago, and have not yet had the opportunity to plant any trees. Our forest school needs a forest - or at least a few special trees! As a nature lover and environmentalist, I would love nothing more than to be able to plant a tree in our backyard with my nature school class of 12 children. I would also love to have each child paint a picture of the tree every year as it grows, and share something that they love about it. I would like to dedicate this tree to Jane Goodall, and make a special sign with my favorite Jane Goodall quote: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
