The Problem
Seeding Hope was founded to address food insecurity and food waste in Southern California. While many families lack reliable access to fresh, nutritious food, thousands of pounds of produce go unused each year.
Seeding Hope was founded to address food insecurity and food waste in Southern California. While many families lack reliable access to fresh, nutritious food, thousands of pounds of produce go unused each year.
Our mission is to transform food security from reactive to proactive by expanding access to fresh food while empowering communities to grow their own. We collect and redistribute surplus produce from home fruit trees, community gardens, orchards, and farmers markets to food banks and families in need, teach practical gardening through workshops, and provide educational seed packets and growing resources. Our next goal is to establish a community garden and seed bank to create a hub for education, food production, and community involvement.
