The Problem

We want to increase availability of fresh vegetables in our community by starting Okra seedlings from the seeds in our Roots and Shoots garden. We will make them available to the wider community as seedlings and grow and harvest them as fresh vegetables for the local soup kitchen.

Our Plan

1. Collect Okra seeds from drying pods in our garden. 2. Plant two seeds in each of the 4" individual pots 3. Water and care for them in our garden. 4. When sprouts are 4" high and sturdy, make them available to other gardeners and neighbors. 5. Plant a 12' row in the garden with the remaining seedlings. 6. Harvest the Okra and donate to local soup kitchen.
