The Problem

I hope to turn our dumping sites on school grounds into a usable, outdoor classroom where students and teachers can enjoy learning about reusing, reducing, and recycling concepts. This will be the first site we take on and hope to turn it into an arboretum for our students to enjoy as they learn.

Our Plan

Our project will allow teachers to present science lessons in an outdoor setting and focus on real hands-on science activities. Students will become engaged with next generation science standards that will allow them to use the science and engineering practices. I have involved several people from our community to help make this happen, including our plant manager and our new school principal. Our Friends of Nature Club has been working diligently to plan out all the necessary materials and supplies that we will need to open our site early Spring 2017. We also the Tree People support who will guide us along the way.
