Here is how the project went:

We went to Mindoro, Philippines right after Volcano Taal has erupted. We were able to speak to the tribal people called the mangyans. We spoke to them about the harmful effects of killing or capturing these birds indiscriminately. There is an urgent need to conserve them. We also went to a local bird sanctuary on Mindoro, Philippines

Through this project I/we learned:

It is challenging to change the mindset of a group of people, especially if they cannot see the immediate rewards

What I/we might change:

bring visual examples of extinct birds

My/our favorite part of this project was:

meeting other endangered species like the Tamarao (its a small buffalo)

Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:

be prepared, bring an interpretor and bring presentd for little kids
