The Problem

We live in a materialistic world where the latest gadget or fashion is just a click away from being ours. As a result, plastic pollution in my community in particular has become a tremendous problem. Whether it be finding plastic bags on runs or plastic bottles on the sidewalk, plastic was suffocating my community and it was time to make an effort to change it.

Our Plan

Using the grant money acquired, we contacted a cloth bag retailer in Florida and designed, purchased, and distributed these bags. We initially aimed to target grocery stores in the community, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this option became infeasible. As a result, we distributed them to friends and family in the community, helping reduce plastic pollution.
