The Problem
Due to habitat loss, invasive species and disease, pesticide use, and climate change, critical pollinators around the world are dropping in numbers. To help mitigate these challenges this project will engage community members in the enhancement of existing pollinator gardens along the Sand Creek Greenway and provide educational opportunities for folks to learn about the importance of these pollinators.
Our Plan
This project will combine environmental stewardship, education, and community building by engaging families in public hands-on pollinator and art workshops. This will consist of two pollinator and art workshops where participants will install native plants in two pollinator garden along the Sand Creek Greenway, learn about the importance of local pollinators and pollinator friendly native plants, and create artwork inspired by these amazing creatures.
