The Problem
Safe In Austin is a nonprofit that "rescues animals who suffer from abuse or neglect, because animals deserve to experience unconditional love." Once those animals are healthy and trusting, they interact with people who have had similar trauma to help them heal. Safe In Austin does not charge an admissions fee, they only request suggested donations. The animals they care for tend to cost more to care for as they need medications, and special accommodations. They rely on donors and volunteers to take action on their long list of needed Partner Projects.
