Accomplishments to date: A book manuscript titled Origins of the Anti-Geoengineering Movement: Grassroots Environmental Activism is under contract. The citation is Hollowell, Mary (under contract). Origins of the Anti-Geoengineering Movement: Grassroots Environmental Activism. Hershey, PA: IGI Global. Publicity: The UNC General Alumni Association posted an announcement about the grant under \\\'91 Class Notes in its Carolina Alumni Review magazine Sept/Oct 2023 issue. Education: Approximately 50 honors students and their teachers were informed about geoengineering at Langston Hughes High School in Fairborn, GA, on Sept. 19, 2022. The students were concerned and attentive. The guest speech by Mary Hollowell concluded with singing \\\"This Land is Your Land\\\" by Woody Guthrie. Students kept the beat with maracas, claves, and tambourines. Thanks to principal Rashida Armstrong and science deptartment chair Rashonda Cooper for the invitation. Community Service: Adults in our group weeded, hoed, built a wall, and did general clean-up at Camp Fulton, a boys camp near the Atlanta Airport. Adults Douglas Hicks & Virgil Fludd, both of whom have been alerted to geoengineering, held an onstage conversation at The Carter Center on Oct. 25, 2022. Thanks to attorney Sue McAvoy for her leadership, compassion, and support of ecojustice advocacy over the years.
