The Problem

The problem we want to fix is that our downtown Taos neighborhood has small yards, limited fresh food, and shrinking habitat for pollinators. Families want to grow food but do not know where to start. Our own school yard is overgrown and underused. We want to show that even a small space can grow abundance, support bees and bugs, and bring generations together.

Our Plan

The action we are planning is transforming our overgrown school yard into an edible classroom ecosystem with raised beds, compost bins, pollinator planting areas, and accessible gathering space. Youth and elders will meet weekly to plant, tend, harvest, and cook together. We will also host monthly community workdays and share fresh food with neighbors.
