Refurbishing the elementary school community garden

The Problem

Our school garden had been ignored for quite some time. The parent of our Scout was a plant expert and taught us about seeds, and how to water, and we invigorated the garden. We grew vegetables such as snap peas, lettuce, and corn, and grew an edible herb wall. We learned a lot about plants and veggies.

Our Plan

Our garden brought back life to the corner of our school that was ignored. Students saw us after school and came to see what we were doing. The extra food went to families in our community, and a girl who saw us joined our Girl Scout troop!
