The Problem

We want to reduce food waste, reduce unnecessary items being thrown in the trash, encourage recycling.

Our Plan

During our lunch period, we will set up a recycling space and food collection station. We will educate students about how to dispose of their leftover lunch items. When students are done with their lunch, they put uneaten food into the bowl. The collected uneaten food will be donated to a small farm sanctuary for their animals. In another bowl, they will put prepackaged food that was not eaten, so that it can be shared with someone else instead of it ending up in the trash. Any recyclable items will be put into the recycling bin.
