Kids Express After School Roots & Shoots program wants to help their families reduce the use of plastic bags.
Our Plan
In January, the children will study about ways to reuse, reduce, and recycle plastic. They will involve their families by providing them with reusable canvas bags to use when shopping. The children will each decorate one canvas bag, with symbols or pictures of nature items. The earth and some of its resources will be items suggested for the children to paint on their bags. When the bags are dry, the children will take them home with a note to parents explaining how the children have learned about reducing the use of plastic and asking them to keep this bag in their car to use when shopping at local stores.
