Here is how the project went:
It went well. I prepared a PowerPoint presentation addressing the most common recycling mistakes I notice at home. I presented it to two groups in different settings: Immediate family members and close family friends — 12 people in total. High school advisory group — I had originally planned to present at a local middle school, but due to scheduling conflicts, we couldn't coordinate a time. Instead, I presented to students in my high school advisory, where we also had an active discussion.
Through this project I/we learned:
Correct recycling methods and techniques, how to check local rules for what can or cannot be recycled
What I/we might change:
Survey based questionnaire to collect more information
My/our favorite part of this project was:
Taking pictures to be able to use them for presentation
Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:
Recycling remains a crucial part of efforts to reduce waste in our landfills. While many people recognize its importance, they are often unsure about what can and cannot be recycled. Additionally, despite good intentions, we may unknowingly contaminate entire loads with items like food residue or loose plastic bags, preventing anything from being recycled. Doing it right can make a huge difference!
