Biography |
I’m a high school student who’s slightly obsessed with bugs, biology, and keeping our water bodies clean. My scientific interests have led me to explore the effects of human activity on aquatic environments, including how everyday products may contribute to harmful algal blooms. I also volunteer with Nourish KC and Youth Volunteer Corps, where I’ve worked on everything from food security to de-weeding community gardens and cleaning up city streets. I also teach proper recycling techniques to kids (pro tip: pizza boxes don’t go in the bin if they’re greasy). I love studying entomology—bugs are awesome, and they play a huge part in healthy environments. With a background in scientific research and volunteerism, I hope to blend hands-on science with action that creates measurable change in our communities and enjoy finding creative ways to educate others on recycling, pollution prevention, and environmental responsibility. My other interests are indoor archery and pottery.
