I teach Env Sci 12, AP Env Sci, Clean Energy (Fall 2019), and Chemistry. We do have a schoolwide reycling program, but students/staff continue to place soda/water bottles into the classroom garbage, instead of the recycling bin. We'd like to run a program to prove how many more bottles should be recycled!
Students will be trained how to visualize the trash bag contents in order to count the number of recyclable bottles. They will keep daily totals on a clipboard that will be posted in the classrooms. Clipboards will be collected each Friday, tabulations will be made each Monday, and then we will create morning and afternoon announcements, as well as update counts on posters in key locations throughout the building.
