Recycling Program at Wright

The Problem

The wish for this project is to reduce the amount of paper and recyclable material that could end up in the landfill. There is a lot of paper that doesn't get recycled because there are no recycling containers in easy access for teachers and students to put their recyclable materials. We would need to acquire the containers and get students and teachers in the habit of recycling.

Our Plan

We want to learn more about how we can reduce our impact on the environment by starting a recycling program at school, working in our school garden and continue gathering information on the temperature, clouds and soil around the school campus. However, of all the things we are learning, the one that would have the greatest impact and fastest to implement would be a recycling program. Obtaining containers for every classroom in school, setting up a schedule for having the containers from each classroom emptied out on a regular bases. As an incentive to have every classroom participate, we would offer a pizza party for the classroom that recycles the most.
