The Problem
We are aiming to reduce the waste that ends up in landfill, both saving funds (which can hopefully be redirected to other environmental initiatives) and the environment!
Our Plan
We are aiming to give residents at college the option to recycling. We are allowing people to do this on an opt-in basis - as in the past the college has had trouble with recycling bin contamination. We will supply groups of people with a bin, and they will take responsibility for emptying it, and splitting up the different recyclables appropriately. Hopefully by making students take responsibility for this themselves, they will encourage others to respect the bins and use them appropriately. Overall, this will hopefully help to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill from the college.
