We want to fix the plastic bottle issue impacting our campus. Plastic bottles are not being recycled. We want to be able to educate peers about the importance of recycling. We would like to purchase special bins that students will recognize and use to place their plastic bottles. Many bottles are being thrown away and ending in landfills.
The action we are planning is to make an informative speech to students about our recycling program. We will pick up bins from each classroom and recycle the bottles collected on a weekly basis. The bottles will be picked up by the Los Angeles Conservation Corp. They will recycle the bottles for us and give us the proceeds to purchase a refill water station for our school. This will eliminate the use of water bottles on our campus.
