Recycling Cell Phones

The Problem

Our goal is to educate students and their families about the importance of recycling electronics and cell phones. Recycling is essential to the preservation of gorillas because an ore used in these electronics called Coltan is mined in Central Africa where the gorillas live. Mining for this ore is destroying gorilla's habitat, threatening their survival.

Our Plan

The group created educational presentations/materials for students and their families, and will be asking people to donate their unused electronics to be sent in for recycling.
