We want to spread more awareness to people about the plastic pollution problem occurring in our oceans. Our goal is to reuse plastic in new ways through upcycling, and re-engineer plastics to be biodegradable through testing out various bioplastic recipes. We will hold a convention of our findings with our community to spread awareness and our innovative ideas!
We will be working in science class to study the chemistry behind bioplastics, and test various recipes out. We will then work in teams to think of new ways to use these these reengineered plastics in single-use plastic items. We will also be collecting plastic items that we would have put into the trash bin and upcycle them into new products. Finally, we will be building a website with all of our creations and our products to spread our ideas and build awareness of the problem of single use plastics in our oceans.
