Here is how the project went:

We successfully built 2 new raised garden beds to grow vegetables in. We grew and harvested tomatoes, basil, oregano, corn, pole beans and cucumbers. We also built a raised garden bed exclusively for the teaching staff to use in order to enhance their classroom projects.

Through this project I/we learned:

Our vegetable garden beds taught us how to grow vegetables and herbs. We learned the differences between how some vegetables are grown and harvested and compared them to the way we see the same vegetables we buy in the market. We also compared their textures and flavors. Everyone agreed that what we grew were much better.

What I/we might change:

We would like to grow different vegetables and fruits when we do this project again.

My/our favorite part of this project was:

Watching the students be excited to see growth and to harvest. Also sharing the harvest and seeing how much they enjoyed the flavors of fresh vegetables.

Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:

Our local newspaper wrote an article about our Green Team. Then our local news station did a news report about our Green Team on TV! Our entire school was super excited to see some of our students and our garden on TV.
