The Problem
We wish to create an outdoor classroom for children and adults alike to spend time in the urban forest using nature to study aspects of science, technology, engineering, art, math, and design.
We wish to create an outdoor classroom for children and adults alike to spend time in the urban forest using nature to study aspects of science, technology, engineering, art, math, and design.
Our outdoor classroom will become a thriving wildlife habitat attracting and protecting a multitude of urban flora and fauna, including milkweed, hawks, bats, insects, bees, birds, moths, and butterflies to the garden in an area of North Brooklyn with incredibly limited green space. PS 132 students raise money in their annual Penny Harvest and use the funds to give back to the community. Students have consistently chosen to donate a portion of the funds to the Garden every year.
