Propagation and Reintroduction of Florida Golden Aster

  • Location
    St. Petersburg, Florida
  • Status
    Active

The Problem

To grow Florida Golden Aster's, an endangered plant in Pinellas County, and plant them at Boyd Hill to re-establish a population and continue the future of this plant.

Our Plan

We will grow seeds provided by Bok Tower Botanical Gardens and grow them in a classroom until the plants are large enough to survive on their own. Once they are large enough they will be planted at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve to become apart of another colony of Florida Golden Aster plants. This will be lead by Bethany Porcelli and Cady Coe at Boga Ciega High School!
