The Problem
Project Freshman FIRST( Freshman- Integrating- Resources-Service-Learning- Together) is led by grade 9 students in an intergenerational community service environmental stewardship initiative engaging community volunteers, retired teachers and friends and neighbors. Following a survey of community needs, environmental stewardship evidenced needs in cleaning a nearby creek, home to endangered species and open space parks and playgrounds to foster outdoor enjoyment and exercise.
