The Problem
The Kids Express After School preschoolers want to further develop a small native prairie garden that was started last year. They are learning about the importance of preserving and sustaining native plants. Their 10 acre campus was once located on a prairie, called Prairie View Farm.
Our Plan
Currently, the grounds have farm animals, pastures, a woods, pond, and several types of gardens, but the campus lacked a prairie. There are a few native plants growing in their prairie space and they will plant more in the spring of 2017. They will study about native flowers and grasses this winter and purchase additional starter plants in the early spring to be planted in April or May of 2017.
