The Problem

We're building a Pollinator Habitat Garden to help bees and butterflies in our neighborhood. A lot of these insects are losing their homes because of new buildings and construction, so I want to create a space that actually helps them survive.

Our Plan

I’m going to use native plants and milkweed to turn a regular patch of dirt into a Monarch hub. The native plants I will focus on are milkweed varieties, purple coneflower, and wild bergamot. I researched these and all of them are native to my region. This gives butterflies a place to stop and lay eggs during their long migrations. I’ll be picking plants that belong here naturally because they don't need a ton of extra water and they attract local biodiversity better than random grass. The goal is to make a chemical-free, safe spot for pollinators to thrive while making the area look much better.
