The Problem

The native bee population is suffering in DC. We want to create a habitat for bees on our school campus, and work to educate our community about why bees are important and what we can do to help them thrive.

Our Plan

We built a pollination castle for bees and placed it in our teaching garden. We also researched native and invasive pollinator plants per the DC Department of Energy and Environment's pollinator protection plan, and identified plants that would be a good fit for our garden. We planted them and distributed seeds and educational resources throughout our school.
