The Problem

Marin residents may not be prepared in the event of an evacuation during the next fire season.

Our Plan

Supplying the clients of Marin Humane's Pet Care Assistance Program with evacuation kits to help them and their companion animals be safe during the next fire season.

Here is how the project went:

One semester of our club participants raised $1400 to create the kits. The next semester's participants created and delivered the kits to our clients.

Through this project I/we learned:

Students learned the value of a long term project through fundraising efforts and delayed delivery of kits.

What I/we might change:

We would change the number of clients we delivered to. We delivered to all 200 clients from our Pet Care Assistance program, but less than half that number are current, active clients. So some phone numbers and addresses were outdated.

My favorite part of this project was the amount of students that were able to be involved since it spanned two semesters.

Our clients were so thankful to receive these kits and to know we care about protecting their pets.
